NEWARK, Ohio — Newark police arrested a convicted sex offender on Wednesday in connection with a reported abduction and sexual assault over the weekend. Roger Black Jr., 31, of Newark, was arrested around 5:30 Wednesday evening on rape and kidnapping charges, according to Newark police Sgt. Bert Gliatta. Black is expected to appear in court later today, Gliatta said.
