The first wreck happened on County Road 31 in Logan County at about 5:30 a.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
John B. Frank, 46, Bellefontaine, was riding south on C.R. 31 when he struck a deer, ejecting him from the motorcycle.
Frank was airlifted to The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, where he was in critical condition, the patrol said.
The second crash occurred about an hour later on state Route 245 in Union County.
Investigators said Frederick D. Volz Jr., 67, of North Lewisburg, was riding west on S.R 245 when he collided with a large deer.
The motorcycle went off the side of the road and overturned. Volz was ejected from the bike and died at the scene, authorities said.
The patrol said motorists should be alert for deer movement, especially during the night, dawn and at dusk.
