FBI: Man Says He Planted Bombs Outside Bank Before Robbery

The Cooper State Bank, located at 1669 West 5th Avenue, was robbed shortly after 1:30 p.m., the FBI said.
A man wearing a fishing hat and dark sunglasses entered the bank and allegedly told a teller that he would detonate bombs outside of the bank if he did not get money, the FBI said.

The robber put the money in a red backpack before fleeing.
He was described as mid-20s to 30s in age, 6 feet, 1 inch tall with a thin build. He was clean-shaven, and was wearing a light-colored fishing hat, a long-sleeve dark blue shirt, and tan pants.
The FBI said after the robbery the area surrounding the bank was checked for explosives and none were found. No injuries were reported.
